Hi francis ten,
Not sure which background you mean. There is the light grey background that is around all of the gallery – you can change that in gallery.css. The class name is vp_gallery.
The white background behind the big video player, that loads white initially when the page loads, I’m not actually sure you can change that.
Take a look through gallery.css (it’s part of the plugin) and you will see various background-color settings that you can change.

hi will this plugin make a list of videos if there videos are hosted in my server or it is just embed them from outside
i am searching for a plugin to do a video list of my video posts in the blog

Majed – The gallery will contain any video that you add to a Vodpod collection. Check out vodpod.com. I believe vodpod can handle your own self-hosted videos. Whatever the embed code is that you would use to display your video on your website is what you would use to add it to your vodpod account.
It will not automatically list your videos in a video gallery if they are added to posts on your blog. I do not know of a plugin that does that.

I followed the steps but on the 4th step I am confused on using this what comes after adding the entries on my pages? Shouldn’t there be a GUI to upload my videos for this plugin so that it will recognize where it will get the videos to be displayed? If that is not the case, when I insert the text into any page how do I map the video I uploaded from my file manager to the text entries? What url should I put in-place of your text entries? I hope my questions doesn’t confuse you.

Ashleyd4,
My plugin does not handle uploading videos. It uses the Vodpod API. What you need to do is get an account with Vodpod and then use it to collect videos. They have a simple browser toolbar button that you can install to make this an easy process.
The way Vodpod works is that you can collect videos from many different sites, such as YouTube, Google, MetaCafe, etc etc etc. When you add a video to Vodpod, that is where you can write in a description, and change the title if you wish.
My video gallery plugin takes whatever information you have in your Vodpod account and displays it.

Hi Vodpod,
Can you please tell me why I have bought your application on August 1st 2010, but still haven’t gone pro+ on the CAPQ’s profile yet?
Is this a scheme to make money? If I don’t get the right answer before 5pm tonight (sept. 29, 2010), I will spread the news that Vodpod doesn’t render the services it sells.
Howcome it’s so complicated to contact you people?
Pisted off,
CAPQ

You are contacting the wrong people. We are not affiliated with Vodpod and don’t sell anything. We created a plugin that uses the Vodpod API and that plugin is 100% free.

Hey Xondie –
We’re contemplating using the vodpod plugin for a student film festival. Any thoughts on how we could integrate a “people’s choice” voting system into the page?

Hi, I just added the plug-in but for some reason I cannot get it to show a predetermined number of videos. Right now it is set to 16 per page. It only shows 8 and there is no pagination. Can you help me fix?
Thanks

It’s hard to say without seeing it, but it sounds to me like you might have the “iframe window height” specified in your settings at a height that is too small. If you leave this setting blank (and don’t specify it in the short-code either) then the plugin should calculate an appropriate height automatically.

Can I configure this player to fit in a sidebar widget. If so… it’s perfect. Please advise and thanks in advance!

Sorry Alicia, this plugin is not intended as a sidebar widget and there is no way to configure it as such.

hi,
i just downloaded the VodPod Plugin but all i get is this on the page:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: str_ireplace() in /hsphere/local/home/loslito/walktalkin.com/loslito_wordpress/wp-content/plugins/vodpod-video-gallery/vodpod_gallery.php on line 394
what do i do?

That error means that you are using an old version of PHP. This plugin requires PHP5. You are probably running on a server that uses PHP4. Talk with your hosting provider. There are often ways of working around this.
